ABOUT US
Morigenos – Slovenian Marine Mammal Society is an independent and non-profit professional non-governmental organisation founded in 2001 to study and explore dolphins in the Slovenian sea and to raise awareness and educate the public.

Morigenos in ancient Celtic language means “born in the sea”. The main activity of the society is the Slovenian Dolphin Project, long-term research, monitoring and protection programme of the species Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) in the northern Adriatic. This is the first long-term and systematic dolphin research in Slovenia.
