Dolphins are also present in Slovenia!
The research work of the Morigenos Society has shown that the species bottlenose dolphin is regularly present in Slovenian waters. Before that, there was little known about dolphins in Slovenia, only few people knew that they are sighted in Slovenia.
Nowadays, some dolphins are well known. Many of them are our old friends who are slowly revealing the secrets of their lives. We had the opportunity to observe some dolphins while they were growing up, we are always happy to see new calves as well.
In the Slovenian sea dolphins are feeding, playing, resting, as well as breeding and raising their calves. Slovenian waters are more or less regularly inhabited by about 150-200 dolphins. Some dolphins stay here occasionally, others regularly, some of them come here every year, for 20 years in a row (since the beginning of our research).
