EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

In addition to the research work, one of the main activities of the Society is the education of the general public about dolphins in the Slovenian sea and about the importance of preserving the marine environment and its biodiversity. Therefore, we organise lectures and workshops for the youngest children, pupils, students, and adults, and we also organise science days.
We have prepared various educational programs that last for one hour or more, in the morning or all day. All programs can be adapted to your wishes and carried out in Slovenian and English.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE DOLPHIN CENTRE

  • A guided visit through the exhibition area of the Dolphin Centre.
  • Location: Piran
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Suitable for: All ages
  • Group size: Up to 15 participants at a time. Larger groups can be split into smaller groups by prior arrangement.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE DOLPHIN CENTRE WITH WORKSHOP

  • A guided visit through the exhibition area of the Dolphin Centre in Piran, combined with a workshop. You can choose from the following options:
    Workshop 1: Land-based observation
    Workshop 2: Life along the seashore
    Workshop 3: Photo-identification

    Duration: 90 minutes
  • Suitable for: All ages
  • Group size: Up to 15 participants at a time. Larger groups can be split into smaller groups by prior arrangement.

LECTURE

  • The lecture includes an introduction to the work of Morigenos and the life of dolphins along the Slovenian coast.
  • Location: Piran or another location by arrangement
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Suitable for: All ages (content is adapted to the audience)

LECTURE AND INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP

  • The lecture introduces the work of Morigenos and the life of dolphins along the Slovenian coast. In the second part, students build on their knowledge through interactive workshops, which are adapted according to your preferences and the students’ age.
  • Location: Piran or another location by arrangement
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Suitable for: All ages (content is adapted to the audience)

WORKSHOP AND BOAT TRIP

  • As part of the programme, you can choose between a lecture or a workshop (60 minutes), followed by a panoramic boat trip (60 minutes).
  • Location: Piran
  • Duration: 120 minutes
  • Suitable for: All ages (content is adapted to the audience)

LECTURE, WORKSHOP AND BOAT TRIP

  • This programme includes a lecture and a workshop (90 minutes in total), followed by a panoramic boat trip (60 minutes).
  • Location: Piran
  • Duration: 160 minutes
  • Suitable for: All ages (content is adapted to the audience)

NATURE SCIENCE DAY

  • The Nature Science Day is organised according to the selected thematic module*. By arrangement, modules can also be combined or adapted to your preferences. All necessary materials are provided by us.
  • Location: The programme can take place in Piran, in your classroom, or at another agreed location
  • Duration: By arrangement (up to 5 school hours)
  • Suitable for: Primary and secondary schools (content is adapted to the students’ age)

  • Noise pollution and its impact on marine mammals

TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

  • This lecture is intended for teachers and educators who work with topics related to the sea. The programme presents interesting new findings from the field of marine biology and demonstrates practical ways to implement the content interactively in the classroom.
  • Location: By arrangement
  • Duration: 120 minutes

EXTENDED INTERACTIVE PROGRAMME

  • Suitable for preschool education as well as other educational institutions.
  • The programme includes extended activities based on the selected thematic module*. By arrangement, modules can also be combined or adapted to your preferences. All necessary materials are provided by us.
  • Location: The programme can take place in Piran, in your classroom, or at another agreed location
  • Duration: By arrangement (up to 5 school hours)
  • Content: Adapted to the children’s age and the desired learning objectives
