REFERENCES

Ever since the beginning, Morigenos has been very active in scientific research, education and public awareness, nature conservation and the promotion of a responsible attitude towards the environment. We try to make our work important,  scientific, transparent and open to the public. We try to keep a high quality of our work and we hope that it can positively influence the environment and people. Below are some of our references, which testify of our work and which we are proud of.

Morigenos has been given a status of an organisation working in public interest of nature conservation, by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Slovenia.

In 2005, Morigenos received a Ford Environmental and Conservation Award for 2004.

PARTNERSHIPS

 


Morigenos is a partner organisation to ACCOBAMS (Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans of the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and contiguous Atlantic Area).

 


Morigenos is a member of Cetacean Alliance.


Members of Morigenos are active in the European Cetacean Society.

 

Morigenos is a partner organisation to World Cetacean Alliance.

 


Morigenos is a parnter organisation to MedPAN (Mediterranean Protected Areas Network), which coordinates the network of Marine Protected Areas managers in the Mediterranean.

 

Morigenos is a partner to Mare Nostrum, which connects many non-governmental organisations for environmental protection of Adriatic sea.

 


Morigenos is a partner to Europhlukes, an international database for cetacean photo-identification.

 


Morigenos is a member of the European Coalition for Silent Oceans, which fights agains the excessive underwater noise and the uncotrolled use of underwater sonars.

PROJECTS

Morigenos is a partner in project “Živeti z morjem”, which is lead by Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning.

With program “Conserve dolphins in Slovenian sea” Morigenos participates in contest Planetu Zemlja prijazna šola/vrtec, which is lead by Planet Zemlja.


Morigenos also participated in a project “Date mussels? No, thank you!”, which is lead by The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation.

As part of the project “Ohranimo bisere slovenskega morja” Morigenos was doing subproject “Delfini v slovenskem morju – inteligentna bitja pri nas”. In this project Morigenos collaborated with The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning and Petrol, d. d.
